Job Description Assume day to day administrative management and supervision of the various components of perioperative operations In collaboration with the Director of Perioperative Services, develop and implement operating plans, programs, and procedures to achieve perioperative goals and objectives Play a critical leadership role in the implementation of strategic short-term and long-term initiatives Direct administrative and clinical leadership in the perioperative service areas (OR/PACU Nursing, PPU, Anesthesiology, Surgery, and Day surgery) in implementing policies and procedures to achieve efficient workflow in the perioperative areas Identify and resolve issues related to staffing, utilization of hospital facilities, equipment, and supplies Develop and tracks various metrics to evaluate performance and efficiency in the perioperative areas Ensure the accountability of and adherence by designated stakeholders to policies and procedures developed to achieve perioperative goals and objectives Act as a liaison between the various perioperative departments to assist in troubleshooting and implementing solutions to various professional, technical, and administrative issues that arise relating to the operation of perioperative services Proactive in generating innovative strategies to improve workflows that meet patient needs and regulatory requirements Responsible for creating and generating performance improvement (PI) projects for Perioperative Services and the Department of Anesthesiology Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications A Masters Degree in Art or Science with a specialization in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, Administrative Medicine or in Public Health when conferred for a program in hospital administration from an approved college or university; and, RN or PA with experience preferably in perioperative service areas; or, An equivalent combination of training, educational background and experience in related fields and educational disciplines; and, Knowledge of fundamentals of hospital organization, administration and standards, regulations and laws applicable to hospital operations.
